A mentor of mine in business taught me that when resolving issues in the workplace it’s important to stick to the facts of the situation. That means no emotions, no finger pointing or blame, no opinions.
In our personal affairs as well, we can take a clear inventory of what the facts are, keeping the emotions out of it and address situations from a practical perspective. It can be helpful to keep in mind that our emotional reaction is often based on past experiences that have little if anything to do with the situation at hand. That reaction can keep me from having clarity about what’s important. When I work Steps 1, 2 and 3 on the issue admitting I’m powerless and my life is unmanagemable, remember that a power greater than me can restore me to sanity, and make the decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God as I understand God “I” seem to shift in the situation so that I can respond.
God does for me what I cannot do for myself, helping me to respond appropriately based on a more realistic perspective of the situation. The solutions seem to come easier. They’re simpler. Life gets easier in general, and it takes less physical and emotional energy for me to work through the resolution process. Sometimes, the solution just appears and I don’t have to do anything to resolve the situation. Those are the miracles of the program and are listed on my gratitude list the next day. Thank You God.

Remember to say the affirmation at least 3 times whenever you remember it, preferably in front of a mirror.
Course In Miracles Lesson – I will not value what is valueless.
Practice – I will not value what is valueless. And only what has value do I seek, for only that do I desire to find, for what is valuable belongs to me.
