Fair Progress

We went to our State Fair yesterday and had the time of our lives!  We always enjoy the exhibits and the concessions.  The food is our favorite pastime and this year the Corn Dogs and Fish Tacos were spot on.

The State Fair was also the perfect backdrop for my husband and I to have some frank discussion about some of  the challenges currently facing us.  It seemed to be more pallatable to discuss our pending financial and work conditions while meandering from booth to booth of unnecessary gadgets, tools, household and clothing items in the Grand Stand.  Between the sun glasses, the chamois, the high leverage pruners and the bamboo towels we were able to stay more factual, less emotional and more focused on our thoughts about solutions while exploring these Fair goods.  What’s more, we agreed on several – the majority – of what each of us presented for short-term and more long-term plans for our future.

I’m wondering if this is our most effective way of approaching topics of concern as we go forward, or if the Fair was the great mediator.  We’ll see as we attend to concerns outside of the Fair influence with our next discussions.  Either way, we made a good deal of progress toward resolution on some items that have been facing us for some time.  And we have a short-term plan for how to handle these pressing aspects of our life together.  All in all, a Fair amount of progress for us and a great way to make it.  We both agreed that we had a lot of fun and enjoyed our State Fair visit immensely.  Much to be grateful for on this fine day!

Affirmation for the Day – ” I am grateful for new solutions. ”

Remember to say the affirmation at least 3 times whenever you remember it, preferably in front of a mirror.
